Helo From Ipanema, by Phil Morrison
Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and inspired Antonio Carlos Jobim to compose the world-famous song “GIRL FROM IPANEMA”.
Phil met Helo while touring in Brazil with The Freddy Cole Trio, and stayed in contact with her. Phil subsequently co-wrote this new song “Helo from Ipanema” for her with Keith Williams.
The tune follows some of the original chord progressions of “Girl from Ipanema” but also employs lots of new chord progressions.
Vocalist Maria Howell sings in English and
Laura Coyle sings in Portuguese.
Barry Greene is on Guitar and Phil Morrison is playing Bass…
